What is IPTV?

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) delivers live television channels over the internet, directly from their broadcast source. Channels are streamed on demand — just select one from the list and it begins playing immediately.

TV Explorer's channel database includes news, sports, entertainment, music, and many other categories, sourced from broadcasters in dozens of countries and languages.

Where Do Channels Come From?

TV Explorer's channel database is sourced from the IPTV open-source project on GitHub, a community-maintained collection of publicly available live TV streams from around the world.

Filtering & Search

Three dropdown menus let you narrow the channel list by Category, Country, and Language. Filters can be combined. The search field filters by channel name as you type.

Favorites & Bookmarks

The heart button in the TV controls bar opens the Favorites & Bookmarks panel. Use it to favorite channels, filter to favorites only, bookmark channels to the hotbar, or save the current filter for quick access.

A red heart means at least one option is active. Your selections are saved automatically and persist across sessions.

Column Sorting

Click any column header in the channel list to sort by that column. Click the same header again to reverse the sort direction. Sorting works alongside filters.

Is This Legal?

Every channel in TV Explorer's database is a free-to-air stream made publicly available by the broadcaster. No hacking, circumvention, or unauthorized access is involved, and no login credentials are required.

Some channels may be geographically restricted by the broadcaster, meaning they are only available to viewers in certain regions. TV Explorer does not collect, store, or share any information about you or your viewing activity.

Sharing Channels

Use the share button in the TV controls bar to copy a direct link to the channel you're watching. The link can be shared with anyone — when opened, TV Explorer launches and begins playing that channel immediately.

Multiview

Each channel row has a TV icon on the far right. Click it to add a channel to the multiview player area. Three or more channels display a large featured player plus a strip of smaller thumbnails.

Status Lights

Gray — not yet tuned. Green — played successfully. Red — failed to play. Not all channels are 24/7, so a red light does not necessarily mean the channel is permanently unavailable.
